The Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc. (BIASC) would like to announce the departure of Labor Relations Director Pam Ackrich from BIASC after 32 years of dedicated service to the association.

“It’s been over three decades since I began my work with BIASC, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the organization,” Ackrich said. “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as BIASC’s Director of Labor Relations and lead the building industry and its union contractor members in building strong and productive relationships with the building trades and our union partners. I am proud of the many accomplishments over the years and of work we have done to create a program that is admired within the broader building industry.”

When asked what aspects she enjoyed most about working with BIASC she responded by saying how she loved working with the people associated with the organization. “During the 32 years I have been with the BIA I had the opportunity to work with some terrific contractors, BIA staff, union officials and many others in the industry. Many have become good friends and we have had some really crazy experiences together.”

Before coming to BIASC, Ackrich served as Assistant Labor Director for the Associated General Contractors for 8 years.

As BIASC’s Labor Relations Director, Ackrich negotiated various construction trade union agreements on behalf of the organization’s union contractor members. Ackrich also oversaw the organization’s Union Contractors Council and created and chaired the Alliance for Quality Construction, which is composed of 40 union and contractor associations who together promote public awareness about the benefits of union construction.

“We appreciate all of the work Pam has done over the years for BIASC,” said Jeff Montejano, BIASC’s CEO. “She has led our labor relations efforts with principle and strength, and we wish her well on her future endeavors.

BIASC has retained, on a contract basis, the services of Lambros & Associates, led by Richard Lambros, past CEO of BIASC, and Vice President Jordan Brandman who will manage BIASC’s labor relations department. Brandman will provide day-to-day oversight and serve as BIASC’s labor relations representative and Lambros will provide strategic guidance with a concentration on the public affairs of the department. Ackrich will be providing knowledge, insight and administrative advice to Lambros & Associates until the end of March to ensure a seamless transition of the program.

“I am glad to know that the Labor Department will be in good hands with Jordan and Rich and am working hand-in-hand with them in this evolution.” stated Ackrich.
